Butler VA COVID-19 Situational Update
Update as of February 24, 2021: Butler Extends COVID Vaccine to 65 and older
The Butler VA Health Care System has worked diligently to offer and administer the COVID-19 vaccine as quickly as possible to VA employees and Veterans who receive care at VA and who meet current CDC guidelines. We are excited to announce that we are progressing through the prioritization and are now offering vaccines to enrolled Veterans 65 and older. Please contact the call center at 878-271-6753 for more information about the Moderna COVID vaccine and to schedule an appointment.
Veterans are encouraged to register to “Keep Me Informed” at https://www.va.gov/covid-19-vaccine to stay current on COVID vaccine information.
We continue to schedule appointments for vaccine administration. Butler VA receives shipments weekly, however the quantity varies based on supply. Each week staff are committed to exhaust all supply on hand. Effective February 1, VISN and facility COVID-19 vaccination data can be viewed at VA’s Access to Care site.
During this phase of limited vaccine supply, we expect interest to far exceed vaccine availability. That is why we continue to follow CDC guidelines for vaccine administration to ensure those at greatest risk for severe illness are offered the vaccine as it becomes available. To learn more about CDC vaccination guidelines, please visit: When Vaccine is Limited, Who Should Get Vaccinated First? | CDC
Please be sure to check out our website for updates and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
Not enrolled in VA healthcare, speak to one of our Registration staff members by calling 878-271-6645.
In-Person Visits: All Veterans must be screened with temperature checks and questions prior to entry. To get started quickly, use the COVID-19 Screening Tool on your phone. Masks or approved face coverings (per the CDC) are also required to be worn upon entering the facility. Veterans may have one care person with them during their visit. No one under the age of 18 is permitted within the Health Care Center or Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. Please feel free to talk to Butler VA staff about our facility screening process and the precautions that we are taking to ensure your safety.
You may review our General Information Guide for more details.
At this time, the Butler VA’s Wellness Center remains closed, and in-person events and groups postponed. Thank you.
Virtual Visits: Through virtual technology, using VA Video Connect, Veterans can receive convenient access to their team where and when they need it. As we continue to move forward, virtual appointments will be offered for the majority of routine visits as appropriate.
Veterans should contact the Butler VA at 724-287-4781 or toll-free at 800-362-8262, or their VA provider for any questions. Veterans may also follow the Butler VA on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date. Learn more »
