Let VA Butler Healthcare help make 2018 your best year yet! VA Butler’s Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Program provides a variety of classes and resources to help you keep physically fit, as well as mentally fit! Consider trying VA Butler’s new, weekly Meditation Class to get started.
Beginning January 31, VA Butler’s new Meditation Class is available for Veterans every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm in Room 1RT004 at the Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center. Potential benefits of mediation include:
- Reduced pain & enhances the body’s immune system
- Reduced feelings of depression, anxiety, anger & confusion
- Decreased cigarette, alcohol, and drug abuse
- Increased blood flow & slows the heart rate
- Provides a sense of calm, peace & balance
- Helps reverse heart disease
- Helps control thoughts
- Increased energy
- Reduced stress
- Improved sleep
Also new for 2018, VA Butler’s Wellness Center has a personal trainer available for Veterans every Monday and Wednesday from 9am-10:30am. The Wellness Center (gym) is open Monday-Friday from 6am-9pm and 7am-1pm on Saturdays.
