Jon Lasell was appointed as the Director of VA Butler Healthcare on October 14, 2018. Mr. Lasell came to the VA from the U.S. Army Medical Command Healthcare Contracting Activity in San Antonio, where he served as the director of business operations and chief of staff. He has also served as chief operating officer at the Winn Army Community Hospital in Hinesville, Georgia, and deputy chief of staff for the Regional Health Command – Central in San Antonio.
Lasell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Prairie View A&M University and a master's degree in health care administration from Baylor University. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Rebecca Hubscher, MSW, MBA | 878-271-6681
Associate Director for Operations
Ms. Rebecca Hubscher was appointed to serve as the Associate Director for Operations for VA Butler Healthcare, effective June 3, 2012. Ms. Hubscher comes to VA Butler Healthcare from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) where she served as the Vice President of Community Based Care since March 2008. She began her career at VAPHS in 1998 as a social worker. Her experiences also include Chief of the VA Mental Health Clinic in Grand Rapids, Michigan and manager of the Home and Community Care Line at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Ms. Hubscher received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology/Sociology from Carlow College. She obtained her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and earned her master's degree in Business Administration at Waynesburg College. Ms. Hubscher is also a recent graduate of the Executive Career Field Program.
Sharon Coyle, MSN, RN, MBA | 878-271-6682
Ms. Sharon Coyle was appointed to serve as the Associate Director for Patient Care Services for VA Butler, effective April 2007. Ms. Coyle came to VA Butler from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) where she held various positions of responsibility. Her previous leadership roles include Associate Chief Nurse at VA Butler Healthcare and Nurse Manager at VAPHS. She began her career at VAPHS in 1999 as a nursing VALOR student.
Ms. Coyle received her bachelor's degree in Nursing from Duquesne University. She obtained her master's degree in Business Administration and master's degree in Nursing at Waynesburg College. Ms. Coyle serves as the VISN 4 Geriatrics and Extended Care Lead and as the VISN 4 Lead Nurse Executive.
Jo-Anne Suffoletto, MD, MSc | 878-271-6680
Chief of Staff
Effective November 11, 2018, Jo-Anne Suffoletto, MD, MSc, was appointed as Chief of Staff at the Butler VAMC. Dr. Suffoletto received her MD from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine, and completed her Internal Medicine residency-Women’s Health Track at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She served as a Chief Medical Resident at UPMC prior to joining the Internal Medicine faculty within the Division of General Internal Medicine at UPMC and VAPHS. Dr. Suffoletto joined the VAPHS medical staff in 2008. She served as the Associate Chief of Staff for Education and Innovative Learning and Medical Director of the Simulation Program at VA Pittsburgh since 2013. Dr. Suffoletto also holds a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She has served as a champion of medical education, systems improvement, and the Just Culture initiative at VA Pittsburgh. Dr. Suffoletto served as Interim Chief of Staff at the Butler VAMC since July 9, 2018.
