Executive Director/CEO

Kevin Amick was appointed as Director of the Butler VA Health Care system on April 26, 2020. Mr. Amick previously served as the associate medical center director at the Durham VA Health Care System in Durham, North Carolina. His service to the Veterans Health Administration began in 2010 and he has served in various positions there and at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia. Amick also served as a chief hospital corpsman and in other roles in the Navy Hospital Corps at various duty stations during his 21 year naval career. Mr. Amick holds master’s degrees in health administration and human resources management from Strayer University and a bachelor's degree in health science from Old Dominion University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Associate Director for Operations

Ms. Rebecca Wolfe was appointed to serve as the Associate Director for Operations for the Butler VA Health Care System, effective June 3, 2012. Ms. Wolfe came to Butler VA from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) where she served as the Vice President of Community Based Care since March 2008. She began her career at VAPHS in 1998 as a social worker. Her experiences also include Chief of the VA Mental Health Clinic in Grand Rapids, Michigan and manager of the Home and Community Care Line at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Ms. Wolfe received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology/Sociology from Carlow College. She obtained her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and earned her master's degree in Business Administration at Waynesburg College. Ms. Wolfe is also a graduate of the Executive Career Field Program.

Associate Director for Patient Care Services

Sharon Coyle has served as the Associate Director of Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive at the Butler VA Health Care System since April 2007. Ms. Coyle came to Butler from the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System (VAPHS) where she held multiple positions including leadership and in increasing levels of responsibility. At Butler VA she serves as Nurse Executive, having direct supervisory responsibility for multiple clinical programs including the 60 bed Community Living Center (CLC). In addition, she maintains clinical oversight for nursing practice throughout the facility. Ms. Coyle earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh PA, and a Masters Degree in Nursing as well as a Masters Degree in Business from Waynesburg College, Waynesburg PA.

Acting Chief of Staff

Effective June 11, 2020, Dr. Hoffman, MD, was detailed to the Butler VA Health Care System as Acting Chief of Staff. Dr. Hoffman joined the VA as a staff member in the Department of General Internal Medicine in 1993 and has served as a primary care physician at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System’s University Drive Campus for 30 years. She has also served as the Section Chief of Ambulatory Care at VA Pittsburgh of the for more than two decades. She has served as Acting Vice President of Primary Care and Acting Chief of Staff for Education and Innovative Learning at VA Pittsburgh. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. She has been involved in both medical student and resident education as a member of the teaching faculty for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 1995. She has been involved in medical education with roles in teaching, educational administration, and curricular development. She has been involved in the development, and implementation of the Quality Improvement Curriculum for the UPMC IM Residency Program. Dr. Hoffman received her MD from Hahnemann University School of Medicine and did her internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine.
