What Is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi has been practiced for centuries, dating back to Taoist monasteries. Also known as T’ai chi ch’uan or Taiijiquan, Tai Chi was developed as an ancient Chinese martial art. Tai Chi is a widely practiced form of exercise with numerous health benefits. Tai Chi is roughly the equivalent to a brisk walk.
While there is not enough research to conclude clear benefits, studies have demonstrated Tai Chi to have potential positive effects for falls, hypertension, cognitive performance, osteoarthritis, depression, pain, balance confidence and COPD.
Tai Chi is most commonly taught as a series of slow, gentle, low-impact movements that integrate the breath, the mind, and physical activity to achieve greater awareness and a sense of inner peace and well-being.
Tai Chi is typically taught from a master to a student. It  is based on the master’s approval rather than a formal educational format with certification.

SAIL is a strength, balance and fitness program for older adults.

SAIL is an evidence-based program approved by the Administration for Community Living (ACL).

What Is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi has been practiced for centuries, dating back to Taoist monasteries. Also known as T’ai chi ch’uan or Taiijiquan, Tai Chi was developed as an ancient Chinese martial art. Tai Chi is a widely practiced form of exercise with numerous health benefits. Tai Chi is roughly the equivalent to a brisk walk.
While there is not enough research to conclude clear benefits, studies have demonstrated Tai Chi to have potential positive effects for falls, hypertension, cognitive performance, osteoarthritis, depression, pain, balance confidence and COPD.
Tai Chi is most commonly taught as a series of slow, gentle, low-impact movements that integrate the breath, the mind, and physical activity to achieve greater awareness and a sense of inner peace and well-being.
Tai Chi is typically taught from a master to a student. It  is based on the master’s approval rather than a formal educational format with certification.

VA Butler Healthcare offers Veteran fitness classes from 4:30 - 5:30pm in the Wellness Center at the Abie Abraham VA HCC. The classes are provided free of charge to our Veterans, but Veterans must pre-register before attending classes. Join us for ½ hour meditation and instruction to Kundalini Maha Yoga.  Kundalini Maha Yoga is an ancient science of consciousness raising.  It is a complete and holistic science covering every aspect of the human condition that can provide many of the benefits listed below.
