VA Butler Healthcare “Salutes Veterans”

National Salute to Veteran Patients Week February 11-17, 2018

What: VA Butler Healthcare will celebrate the annual National Salute to Veteran Patients during the week of February 11-17, 2018. This year’s activities include: Wednesday, February 14: “Lunch Date with a Veteran in the Community Living Center (CLC);” Thursday, February 15: Butler Jr. ROTC Visit with Veterans in the CLC and Adult Day Health Care (ADHC);” and February 16: “Lunch Date with a Veteran in ADHC. Display tables with information will be available during the week at VA Butler’s Health Care Center and community outpatient clinics.  

Who: Community and Veteran Service Organizations’ members will be engaging with Veterans at VA Butler Healthcare throughout the week. All activities are pre-scheduled.

When: Week of February 11-17, 2018

Where: Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center (HCC); 353 North Duffy Road, Butler, PA 16001

Background: The annual VA National Salute program began in 1978 when VA took over sponsorship of a program started in 1974 by the humanitarian organization, No Greater Love, Inc. VA Voluntary Service staff plan and execute local events and activities at VA medical facilities. The National Salute is observed annually during the week of Valentine's Day, a day of caring and sharing which underscores the Salute's expression of honor and appreciation to inpatient and outpatient Veterans.
