Adult Day Health Care (ADHC)
The Adult Day Health Care Program is an organized program of activities during the day in a community group setting. The purpose of this program is to support the personal independence of older Veterans and promote social, physical and emotional well-being.
The Adult Day Health Care Program emphasizes a shared partnership with the participant, the family, their primary care physician and the community – that works to maintain personal independence.
Adult Day Health Care provides:
- Veterans an opportunity to venture outside of their home and enjoy preplanned social interactions
- Caregivers an opportunity to restand enjoy a break from providing constant care at home
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive care in the Butler VA’s Adult Day Health Care Program, a Veteran must be:
- honorably discharged
- currently enrolled for VA care
Veterans who have been recently discharged from the Butler VA or who have been referred from a community medical facility are eligible for the Butler VA's Adult Day Health Care Program.
To participate in Adult Day Health Care at the Butler VA, a Veteran’s medical condition must be manageable on an outpatient basis —and they must be in need of support to continue living at home.
